Let’s face it, you’re way overdue for a vacation. You’ve got your bags packed and you’re ready to experience all that Sonoma County has to offer. But what should you put on your itinerary? We think we can help you out. Here’s a list of events, activities, locations, and experiences to help you make the most of your Sonoma County Wine Country Vacation!
Total Zen
Traveling can be really tough on the body and sometimes you need to work out those kinks before you can jump into your plans for the day or evening. You should make it a priority to indulge in a spa & salon day if you have the chance. Our community is home to some fantastic retreats with experienced teams and beautiful facilities. Take a dip in a locally-sourced mineral bath, detox in a steam room or redwood dry sauna, have a foot reflexology session, and get that well deserved mani-pedi you need to feel flawless. If you’re unsure of where to go, you can reserve with us and we’ll be happy to do what we can to help you feel balanced.
Coastal Views
Bodega Bay is world renowned for its breathtakingly beautiful coastline views. Popular activities include recreational surf pole fishing, crabbing, kayaking, birdwatching, and sunset strolls in the sand. Visitors come from all over to take in the sights and to escape the hot summer weather (ps. the water’s quite cold, you should dip a toe in first).
Fun & Entertainment
If you’re looking to get a little adventurous, Sonoma County offers a wide range of activities that are likely on your bucket list. You can take to the skies for a Sonoma Hot Air Balloon Tour or Norcal Skydiving experience. You can walk amongst the giant Redwoods at Muir Woods National Monument that have stood the test of time. Or, maybe you’d like to take a walk on the wild side with a tour of one of the country’s only wildlife safaris at Safari West. On the gaming side, we’re happy to take care of you! We’ve got thousands of casino games to choose from if you want to get in on the action and test your luck.
Vineyards
You can’t have a wine country vacation without a visit to the vineyards. Sonoma County boasts an astonishing 400 wineries and counting. Visitors are encouraged to take trips during Veraison; the time of year when grapes begin to change color from shades of vibrant green to bold purple. With so many properties to choose from, you’ll be surrounded with the sweet scent of freshly pressed grapes that are picked and prepped to create signature wines sold all across the country. Some of our favorites that we have in stock come from local Sonoma Wineries that you may have heard of, including Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens, Matanzas Creek Winery, Robledo Family Winery, and Francis Ford Coppola Winery.
Dining Experiences
Sonoma County is blessed with a variety of dining options that are out of this world! If you truly wish to please your palate, schedule a trip during Sonoma County Restaurant Week. This event is a collective of the very best culinary talents and cuisine creations that our community has to offer. Another option is to visit one of Sonoma County’s Farmers Markets where you can sample some of the best treats produced by Sonoma County’s Agricultural Community. Our friends from LA Bowls & Breads located in the Daily Grill here at Graton are thankful to be able to serve items made fresh with local ingredients. If you’re looking for something to meet your fine dining needs, Tony’s of North Beach and 630 Park Steakhouse are ready to exceed your expectations.
